Spokane Public Library welcomes and encourages volunteers to enrich the capabilities and services of the library system.

Volunteers provide essential support for library functions, including assisting or providing programming, organizing materials, and keeping libraries and materials clean and inviting. All library volunteers must be at least 11 years of age (some assignments have a higher age limit), dependable, and must successfully complete library provided training and subsequent evaluations. We do not have volunteer assignments available to fulfill court ordered community service. Further information may be found by viewing our Policy on Volunteering in the Library. Every attempt will be made to place volunteers in positions that match their interests, skills and time commitments. Selected applicants will be contacted as openings occur. Volunteers should be available 1 day per week for a 3-month commitment.
