Mary McCormack is a Chief Joseph decendent of the (Nez Perce) Nimiipuu Tribe, from her father, Levi McCormack. Her mother Margaret McCormack is from a strong German/Irish Catholic lineage. Born in Spokane in 1967, she was educated at Eastern Washington University, (Cheney, WA). She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1994.
McCormack’s art comes from her spiritual and human experience living as a woman in the early 21st century. The art expresses where her Native and Non-Native experience come together. She has been taught different mediums inthe classroom as well as valuable workshops and experiences with professional artists. Currently, she is painting with acrylics.
