Karmen is showing a collection of her work spanning the last 20 years, including paintings, photography, mixed media, collage and digital art. Meet Karmen at First Friday (Sep 7) when she will talk about her work and share the inspiration behind each piece and series displayed in the library’s first floor gallery.
Karmen graduated from North Idaho College with an Associates in Graphic Design in 2000. During her time at NIC, she was Art in the Union Supervisor for the student art gallery and won several awards for her art and photography, including Best in Show for her mixed media collage “Emotion Motion”.
She showed a digital collage at the Spokane Art School for their summer group invitational shows for “10,000 Leagues Under the Sea” in 2015 and “Gulliver’s Travels” in 2016, and has also been a part of their Ornament and Small Works show in 2016 and 2017.
Karmen’s latest work is, “Goddess Chakras”, a combination of acrylic paintings that were photographed and digitally manipulated to create the finished work.
